Only 10 marks separate the top 10 competitors at the end of the first phase of the World Cup class at the Tattersalls International Horse Trials taking place this weekend 27-30 May 2010 at the Tattersalls Ireland complex in Ratoath, Co Meath. The dressage phase ended with Britain's Oliver Townend in the lead on Ashdale Cruise Master, an Irish grey gelding by Cruising whose dressage score of 44.8 left him ahead of three of his compatriots, Mary King on Appache Sauce on 47, Lucy Wiegersma on Granntevka on 48.8 and Zara Phillips on High Kingdom on 49.4.
Best of the Irish was Suzanne Jordan from Co Down on Carneyhaugh Conquistador in sixth position and Michael Ryan from Co Cork on Ballylynch Adventure in tenth.
The dressage phase continues tomorrow for the other international classes. Young Sam Watson from Co Carlow fresh from his recent success at Badminton is the overnight leader in the two star class on the Irish Sport Horse, Hoyo, and Britain's Lucy Wiegersma leads the one star class on Wish Upon A Star.
The excitement of the cross country and show jumping phases take place on Saturday and Sunday respectively along with all the special activities and shopping in the Festival Village at Tattersalls.
