Dot to Dot Dressage, Horse Maze and a lot of fun for kids at Tattersalls Festival!

Front Runner - Eventing for Kids will feature at Tattersalls for the first time this year. It's the eventing sibling of Front Runner - Racing Club for Kids, familiar to many junior racegoers.

It's the fun way to learn more about Eventing, providing an insight into caring for an event horse as well the disciplines undertaken over the three days. Through props and visuals (and plenty of banter), kids will get to know Who's who and What's what. in the world of Eventing.

From its base in the Festival Village on this Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 May, kids will be able to take part in workshops and a series of interactive sessions every hour to learn about all the ins and outs of Eventing. The equipment used by the horses, riders and grooms, from bits to brushing boots, numnahs to nosebands and helmets to horse shoes will be explained in a way that makes it fun for kids.

Dot-to-dot Dressage, Jargon Buster, A-Z of Eventing and Horse Maze will cover everything from flying changes and serpentine loops to coffins and oxers, while each afternoon will be rounded off with a (highly competitive) quiz. Fun and prizes guaranteed!

The Festival Village has been expanded this year to include crafts, shopping mall and tasty produce from Good Food Ireland as well as dog competitions, pony rides and archery. Those who wish to relax with a glass of wine can still watch the action in a magnificent new Moscow Flyer Pavilion where 3 course lunches will be served at reserved tables overlooking the arena, an ideal spot to view the excitement of the finale of the show jumping on Sunday 30 May.

Due to the generous support of Horse Sport Ireland, HSBC, Rookery Park Stud, Eventing Ireland, Dunboyne Castle Hotel and Failte Ireland, no less than six international classes are part of the event ensuring a full weekend's entertainment for spectators.

Picnics and barbecues will be the order of the day! Spectators on Saturday 29 May will be able to watch the thrills and spills of cross country day by booking a picnic site close up to the excitement of the water fence where the whole family can enjoy the action with the car adjacent with all the picnic gear.
