This morning's sunshine has brought the crowds flocking back to Tattersalls for the final day of the Tattersalls Festival. The Festival Village is packed with Sunday shoppers enjoying the atmosphere and the home produced food as excitement gathers for the final show jumping phase of the Tattersalls International Horse Trials in association with HSI incorporating the HSBC FEI World Cup tm Eventing.
The Pony class sponsored by Dunboyne Castle Hotel and Spa was on the go early and the crowd watched with excitement as Ice Cool Bailey's jockey, Sarah O'Brien, daughter of trainer Aiden O'Brien, used up the one pole they could afford to hold on to the top slot to win the class on a score of 48.3. Close behind in second was Jodie O'Keefe from Co Cork who went clear to finish on his dressage score of 51.9. Joshua Pim from Co Laois had one down for a final score in third of 52.1 on Mr Otto.
David Doel GB meanwhile led all the way to take the honours as well as second position in the Eventing Ireland sponsored Junior class on Pick and Mix II and Vivre La Vie B. After that it was Kildare all the way with Shane Power on TLB Interactive, Melanie Young on Riverstown Express and Lauren Persse on Darragh Promise in third, fourth and fifth respectively, all of them from Ireland's Horse County.
The action continues all day in the show jumping arena where the crowds have been gathering to watch from the comfort of the Moscow Flyer Pavilion, glass of wine in hand!
