NATIONAL HUNT ROYALTY ON OFFER AT DERBY SALE
The highly anticipated Derby Sale catalogue is now online, on the Tattersalls Ireland app and will be available in hard copy from early next week. This year’s catalogue certainly lives up to expectations, with 406 lots catalogued including 35 siblings to Grade 1 and 2 winners, notably brothers and sisters to recent Grade 1 winners THE LIQUIDATOR and GLENS MELODY along with Grade 2 winners MALA BEACH and PUFFIN BILLY. The sale takes place on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th June 2013.
This year will see the re-introduction of the Select Horses in Training Section, which will take place after Lot 90 on Thursday June 27th.
Tattersalls Ireland has witnessed 41 graduates winning at the leading National Hunt Festivals across Ireland and Great Britain this year, with 13 of these at the Cheltenham Festival comprising of success in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, the Albert Bartlett, the Ryanair Chase, the RSA Chase, the Triumph Hurdle, the Neptune Investment Management Novices’ Hurdle, the Champion Bumper and the Gold Cup, all in Grade 1 company along with an outstanding win from AURORAS ENCORE in the all important Aintree Grand National.
The Derby Sale has again proved to be the source of precocious racehorses with prime examples coming from 2011 graduate THE NEW ONE, a winner at the 2012 Aintree and 2013 Cheltenham Festivals and 2010 graduate CHAMPAGNE FEVER, victorious at the 2012 Punchestown and 2013 Cheltenham Festivals. CUE CARD and COUSIN VINNY are also Derby Sale graduates that won the Cheltenham Bumper.
All lots catalogued at the Derby Sale are eligible for the €100,000 Tattersalls Ireland George Mernagh Memorial Sales Bumper held at the Grand National meeting at Fairyhouse. The 2013 winner, On Blueberry Hill was purchased at the 2012 Derby Sale for €55,000 and was sold for a profitable sum of £250,000. Second in the 2012 running of the race, The Liquidator went on to win the 2013 Champion Bumper at Punchestown.
The Derby Sale catalogue comprises of an exciting selection of stores with representation from leading sires Beneficial (17), Oscar (18), King’s Theatre (22), Flemensfirth (40) and Presenting (43) along with highly sought after young sires; Arcadio (5), Gold Well (5) and Scorpion (19).

BARGAIN BUY SRUTHAN LANDS LISTED TETRARCH STAKES
The unbeaten SRUTHAN demolished the field by impressively winning the Listed Tetrarch Stakes at The Curragh today. The son of Arakan won the race on only his second outing, previously winning his maiden at Dundalk in March.

MORNING ASSEMBLY LANDS GRADE 1 TITLE FOR TATTERSALLS IRELAND
Tattersalls Ireland graduate MORNING ASSEMBLY produced an impressive performance to win the Grade 1 Irish Daily Mirror Novice Hurdle for owners Clipper Logistics Group, trainer Pat Fahy and jockey Davy Condon. The son of Shantou, who was tackling three miles for the first time, relished the conditions and trip and won the race by three and a quarter lengths.

CHAMPION NOVICE CHASE VICTORY FOR TATTERSALLS IRELAND
Tattersalls Ireland graduate MOUNT BENBULBEN cruised to victory to win the Grade 1 Champion Novice Chase a massive 22 lengths clear of his nearest rival. Relatively unfancied in the race, the son of Beneficial produced a foot perfect round of jumping to win the race for owner Barry Connell, trainer Gordon Elliott and jockey Danny Mullins.

GRAND NATIONAL GLORY FOR TATTERSALLS IRELAND
Dubbed the “Best Horse Race in the World”, today’s Aintree Grand National was won in impressive fashion by Tattersalls Ireland graduate AURORAS ENCORE. Partnered by Ryan Mania for trainer Sue Smith and owners Douglas Pryde, Jim Beaumont and David van de Hoeven, the son of Second Empire produced a master-class of jumping to win the race.
TATTERSALLS IRELAND’S AT FISHERS CROSS CLAIMS ANOTHER GRADE 1 FESTIVAL VICTORY
Tattersalls Ireland graduate AT FISHERS CROSS stormed home to victory today at Aintree to win the Grade 1 John Smith’s Sefton Novices’ Hurdle. Unbeaten on his last six runs, the son of Oscar was following up on his victory in the Grade 1 Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March.
