The 2012 sales season got off to a record breaking start as Lot 184, a half brother to the multiple Grade 1 winning Binocular was sold by Yellowford Farm for €100,000 to Ormond Bloodstock.

After finishing second in the race last year, November National Hunt Sale graduate SOMERSBY powered home to land the Grade 1 Victor Chandler Chase at Ascot today. The Henrietta Knight trained gelding provided a timely boost for his Scorpion half brother who is catalogued Lot 174 for the upcoming February National Hunt Sale taking place on Tuesday January 31st at 10.30am.

The Tattersalls Ireland February NH Sale continues to be an excellent source of National Hunt success producing Graded winners such as Oscars Well, Lambro, Mr Cracker, Kilcrea Kim and Tempest River. Lucky Nine a winner of the Hong Kong Mile earlier in the year was a winner of the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Sprint Group 1 at Sha Tin on SUnday. The son of Dubawi was a graduate of the 2008 September Yearling Sale when sold by Islanmore Stud to Andy Oliver for €15,000. He was named Luck or Design when trained by Andy Oliver.
