Tattersalls Ireland is to stage a Select Point to Point Sale on Sunday 1st May 2011. The sale will take place in the evening at Tattersalls Ireland immediately following the Meath and Tara Point to Point which will take place at the Tattersalls Ireland site.

The sale, which will be called the Tattersalls Ireland Select Point to Point Sale, will comprise a select group of Point to Point winners as well as horses with recent form and will be the first sale of its kind in Ireland.

Commenting on the new sale, Tattersalls Ireland Managing Director George Mernagh said;

“Irish Point to Pointers are much sought after and we are delighted to be announcing this new sale. To have the sale coincide with one of Ireland’s premier Point to Point meetings will provide the perfect showcase for vendors and will be a great attraction for potential buyers, as will the sale’s proximity to the Punchestown Festival.”

Meath Foxhounds and Tara Harriers Point to Point Chairman George Briscoe and Simon Walford said;

“Tattersalls Ireland is synonymous with top class National Hunt performers and is the perfect venue for such a venture.”

Applications for the new sale will commence early in 2011 during the Point to Point Season.
