Burning Thread continued to progress up the ladder when winning the Listed Scurry Stakes at Sandown Park. The three-year-old son of Captain Rio made all the running and stayed on well to win by half a length.

Burning Thread was a purchase for his trainer, Tim Etherington at the 2008 September Yearling Sale from Yeomanstown Stud for a mere €10,500.
