BUDDING TALENT ON OFFER AT THE DERBY SALE SELECT HORSES IN TRAINING SECTION

In keeping with the select nature of this particular section, horses for the Derby Sale Horses in Training section will be carefully selected to only offer the best available at this prestigious sale. We are currently considering animals for this year’s sale and horses already selected include:

Jack The Wire (IRE)
5YO Gelding by Scorpion – Smiling Away (Phardante)

This fellow put in a fine performance to win on his debut against more experienced individuals in a competitive 15 runner Dromahane maiden. He showed plenty of likeable attributes in particular his willing attitude and fought bravely through a tight gap to lead close home. Subsequently Jack The Wire has shown his talents on the racecourse by comfortably winning a competitive Tipperary bumper by four and a half lengths. He is an imposing and good looking type that has a bright future ahead of him.

Elusive Theatre (IRE)
4YO Mare by Kings Theatre – Miss Best (Grand Tresor)

Impressive winner of a maiden at Ballingarry. She had shown a lot of promise when a close up 3 length fourth on her debut at Inch in a top notch maiden. She was unlucky when exiting in the very early stages of her second start but showed her true class when easily winning at Ballingarry.

Handsome Sam (GB)
4YO Gelding by Black Sam Bellamy – Rose Marine (Handsome Sailor)

A fine chasing type who has run well twice in close succession in top notch maidens. He only went down by half a length on his last run after a very eye catching debut at Bartlemy debut he was only beaten 4.5 lengths. An exciting sort for the future.

Behind The Wire (IRE)
4YO Gelding by Mahler – Mujavail (Mujadil)

Carries an enviable 100% record having won his only outing at Kinsale. Furthermore he is an extremely straightforward sort having made all his own running here and once challenged at the last he showed he had an extra gear and stretched on to win snugly by half a length at the line.

Tara Gig (IRE)
4YO Gelding by Marienbard – Tropical Lilly (Saddlers’ Hall)

Winner of his four-year-old maiden at Ballingarry. He was unlucky at the first at Fairyhouse and exited there so his Laurencetown run on heavy ground was effectively his debut. He stepped up from this to win next time and showed a very willing attitude to gain his reward.

Thumb Stone Blues (IRE)
5YO Gelding by High Chaparral - Jade River (Indian River)

A winner on his only start of a bumper at Kilbeggan. The form for this race has already being boosted with the third placed horse now also a bumper winner. This attractive relative of Tote Gold Trophy winner Non So (FR) overcame inexperience to win in very good style.
