HIGH CLASS TREBLE FOR TATTERSALLS IRELAND GRADUATES AT NAVAN

The highlight of the day was the seasonal reappearance of the highly regarded FLEMENSTAR (pictured) who looked impressive when convincingly winning the Grade 2 Fortria Chase. The son of Flemensfirth, recorded his sixth consecutive success and will now be aimed at the Grade 1 John Durkan before heading for the 2013 Cheltenham Festival.

FLEMENSTAR was sold at the 2006 February National Hunt Sale by The Beeches Stud for 11,000euro to Michael Tallon, who returned him to the 2006 November National Hunt Sale selling him to his present owner, Stephen Curran for 40,000euro.

An excellent front running display secured the Grade 2 Lismullen Hurdle for Oliver McKiernan’s WHATUTHINK. The eight time winner will aim for the Leopardstown Christmas Festival but could make an appearance on the track before then.

WHATUTHINK was sold at the 2002 November National Hunt Sale by Boardsmill Stud for 11,500euro to Foster Bloodstock as a foal. The son of Presenting returned to the 2003 November National Hunt Sale by Peria Stud selling to Kevin O’Brien for 40,000euro as a yearling.

The Grade 3 ‘For Auction’ Novice Hurdle was won impressively by the four-year-old, SIZING RIO who justified his favoritism after recently winning his Maiden Hurdle at Fairyhouse.

SIZING RIO was sold at the 2011 Derby Sale by Lakefield Farm for 55,000euro to his owner, Alan Potts.

The November National Hunt Sale kicks off tomorrow, Monday November 12th with Older Horses, Two-Year-Olds and Yearlings. Foals sell from Tuesday November 13th straight through to Thursday November 15th with Mares concluding the sale on Friday November 16th. The sale commences at 10am each day.
