OUTSTANDING RENEWAL OF EUROPE’S MOST IMPROVED YEARLING SALE

Tattersalls Ireland September Sale graduates have had an outstanding year on the racetrack in 2015, led by Coronation Cup Group 1 winner; Pether’s Moon, high class 2yo and Qatar Vintage Stakes winner; Galileo Gold, multiple stakes winner; Waady, German 1,000 Guineas winner; Full Rose and no less than 57 2yo’s sold at last year’s yearling sale had won 65 races up to the 30 July, more than any other yearling sale in Europe.

Some of Europe’s best stallions have choice lots on offer, and Tattersalls Ireland is delighted to offer two colts by the Classic winner and Classic sire Sea The Stars. Lot 4 is a February-born colt from Knocktoran Stud, a half-brother to a winner, out of a daughter of the Group 3 winner Tycoon’s Drama and a half-sister to the dam of this year’s Irish 2,000 Guineas runner-up Endless Drama, while Staffordstown offers Lot 235, a Sea The Stars colt out of the dual French winner Kesara (Sadler’s Wells). He hails from one of the very best European pedigrees of the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches winner and Group 1 ancestress Riverqueen.

 At the sprinting end of the distance scale, Torard House Stud sends a colt by Pivotal (Lot 372), who is the sire of 26 Group 1 winners. The colt is from the family of Cheveley Park Stakes (G1) winner Regal Rose.

Dark Angel, who is establishing himself as one of Europe’s leading young sprint sires, has seven lots catalogued and Yeomanstown Stud-offers a grey colt out of a half-sister to the dam of the multiple Group-placed sprinter Musetta (Lot 332). The colt is also closely related to the Group 2 winner Alhebayeb, also a son of Dark Angel, and the Group 1-placed Humidor.

 Two lots by Dutch Art are catalogued – Powerstown Stud consigns Lot 154, a filly out of the Princess Margaret Stakes (G3) third Excellerator, the dam of a 2015 juvenile winner, her only runner so far, while Lot 139 is a colt from Loughmore Stables. He is out of the Listed Beverley Bullet Sprint Stakes runner-up Duchess Dora (Tagula).

 Miss Work Of Art is also a mare boasting Group 3-placed credentials and her first foal by Acclamation is offered by Lynn Lodge Stud (Lot 286), the farm also selling a Mastercraftsman filly, a half-sister to the Listed-placed Love And Cherish and related to the dual Group 1 winner Mount Nelson (Lot 336).

Tinnakill House is sending a strong draft, including a filly by the popular sire Kodiac. She is a half-sister to the Solario Stakes (G3) third Music Theory. The farm also offers an Acclamation colt, a first foal out the German Group 2-placed of Night Of Dubai. She is half-sister to the German champion Night Magic and Group 1-placed Night Wish.

 Kodiac also has two exciting colts with recent pedigree updates: Grennanstown Stud’s April colt is out of a half-sister to the dam of this year’s Royal Ascot Norfolk Stakes (G2) winner Waterloo Bridge (Lot 221), while Lot 264, from

Ballincurrig House Stud, is closely related to the 2015 Listed Windsor Castle Stakes winner Washington DC.

 Young sires are to the forefront and Cooneen Stud’s draft includes a half-sister to the Superlative Stakes (G2) winner Firth Of Fifth by Darley shuttle sire Helmet (Lot 5) and a Harbour Watch colt out of the black-type placed mare Playful, the dam of a black-type placed runner (Lot 349).

 Dream Ahead has some choice lots including a Baroda & Colbinstown Stud-consigned colt from the sprinting family of Lady Alexander, Anthem Alexander and Dandy Man (Lot 68), Ballyhane Stud has a filly out of the Group 3-placed Golden Destiny (Lot 193), and Miller Hill sells a filly out of a half-sister to the three-time Grade 2 winner Katdogawn.

 Pier House sends a colt by new sire Power, a half-brother to the Listed-placed Ascot Lady (Lot 43), Lot 51 is a So You Think colt closely related to the High Chaparral black-type placed gelding Alkimos, Grove Stud offers Lot 119, a Harbour Watch colt out of the Listed-placed Dam Beautiful, while Glidawn Stud has a filly by the first-season US sire Archarcharch (Lot 121). Her dam is out of Coral Dance, runner-up in the Prix Marcel Boussac (G1), and she is half-sister to the Classic winners Black Minnaloushe, Pennekamp and to the multiple US Grade 1 winner Shaal.

Part II, starting on Thursday morning at 10.00am features 235 yearlings and all lots are also eligible for the €250,000 Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes. Among those on offer include; Redmondstown Stud’s Intense Focus colt who possesses top class pedigree credentials being a half-brother to Leitir Mor, a dual Group 3 winner and Group 1 runner-up as a juvenile in the Phoenix Stakes and the Dewhurst Stakes, and a full-brother to the Listed-placed Intensical (Lot 520).

From the Irish National Stud is a Famous Name colt out of a half-sister to the international Group and Grade 1 winner Phoenix Reach (Lot 524). The Castlebridge Consignment offers a colt with an interesting pedigree – he is by Mount Nelson, and out of a multiple Group race performer and winner in Australia, a half-sister to the dam of the Italian Group 1 winner Waky Nao (Lot 551).

 Lot 706, the very last lot catalogued for the September Sale, will certainly be worth waiting for. By Cockney Rebel, consigned by Castledillion Stud, she is a full-sister to the Group 2 runner-up Groovejet, and three-quarters sister to Slim Shadey, a seven-time winner of £515,142, three-times successful in Grade 2s and twice runner-up in Grade 1s. Vino Veritas is the dam of seven winners from ten runners, and she is a half-sister to Bullish Luck, a champion miler in Hong Kong.
