Tattersalls Ireland graduate TRANQUIL SEA made it back to back wins when landing the Grade 2 Clonmel Oil Chase for the second year in a row.
At the conclusion of the 2011 November National Hunt Sale on Thursday afternoon, General Manager Roger Casey said:
Despite this sale being historically a one day sale it has in the past few years been the source of multiple Group 1 winners Paco Boy, sold by Triermore Stud as a yearling to Canice Farrell for €16,000 and the outstanding globe trotting mare; Snow Fairy bought by BBA Ireland for €1,800 as a yearling. Other graduates include: Bible Black, Bob Le Beau and Berg Bahn.
There are 153 lots catalogued with an additional 3 supplementary entries. There are a handful of mares in this sale featuring the following covering sires: Amadeus Wolf, Captain Marvelous, Fast Company, Heliostatic, Intikhab and Le Cadre Noir. There is also Nine Bean Rows; a two year old colt placed twice this year and Hope of an Angel a winning three year old filly by Intikhab.
There are over 115 yearlings catalogued with Amadeus Wolf, Big Bad Bob, Camacho, Choisir, Clodovil, Dark Angel, Dylan Thomas, Excellent Art, Hurricane Run, iffraaj, Jeremy, Majestic Missile, Mujadil, Pastoral Pursuits, Rock of Gibralter, Royal Applause, Shirocco, Strategic Prince and Thousand Words all represented.
There are a small number of foals catalogued by the likes of: Amadeus Wolf, Aussie Rules, Bushranger, Camacho, Captain Marvellous, Echo of Light, Majestic Missile, Papul Bull and Tagula. It is also worth mentioning that lot 87 and 127 are colts not fillies as stated in the catalogue. The catalogue and supplement featuring yearlings by Excellent Art, Hurricane Run and Bachelor Duke is now available from the office and online at www.tattersalls.ie
On a day when older horses and Broodmares were on offer at Tattersalls Ireland there was excellent demand for quality mares.
Katmai a winning bumper mare from the outstanding family of Best Mate, Cornish Rebel and Inexorable, in foal to Presenting was sold to Paul Thorman for €115,000. The outstanding racemare J’Y'Vole was sold from Willie Mullins Closutton Stables to Michael Moore of Ballincurrig House Stud acting on behalf of English owner-breeder Paul Murphy.
Tattersalls Ireland graduate DUCK FEET made it four wins from as many starts when impressively winning the Group 3 Premio Guido Berardelli at Capannelle, Italy.
Tattersalls Ireland graduates enjoyed success in both Grade 2 and Listed races this weekend.
