TATTERSALLS IRELAND ANNOUNCES A NEW HEAD OF BLOODSTOCK SALES AND BOARD OF DIRECTOR RETIREMENTS

‘Neil’s lifelong interest in the bloodstock industry combined with the great experience he acquired during his time at Horse Racing Ireland and The Turf Club give him exactly the right qualifications to be Head of Bloodstock Sales’ commented General Manager Roger Casey. ‘He has been with the Company since 2008 and will, I know continue to provide our clients with the expert and approachable service for which Tattersalls Ireland is renowned’.

Roger Casey also announced that both Michael Hillman and Martin Mitchell will retire as directors at the end of 2012 after more than three decades with Tattersalls. ‘I would like to pay tribute to our retiring directors Michael and Martin. Michael has been an invaluable member of the Tattersalls Ireland team since the foundation of Ballsbridge Sales in 1975 and Martin has been a valued member of the board for over 20 years. They have both made significant contributions to Tattersalls Ireland and the wider bloodstock industry and we wish them well for the future" added Casey.

Commenting on his appointment Neil Walsh noted ‘I am delighted and honoured to have been given the position as Head of Bloodstock Sales at Tattersalls Ireland. I am looking forward to developing and growing our Sales in accordance with the values that George Mernagh has instilled in the Bloodstock Team and myself. I look forward to engaging with all our clients in my new role and as always the Bloodstock Team and I will endeavour to do all we can to help. With 2013 just around the corner there is already an air optimism in advance of our February Sale and we are equally looking forward to Derby Sale inspections, which will commence early in the New Year.'
