TATTERSALLS IRELAND GRADUATE MANY CLOUDS WINS THE GRAND NATIONAL

MANY CLOUDS, who landed a pot of £561,300 for his win today, was selected by Trevor Hemmings and bought by Highflyer Bloodstock on his behalf at the 2007 November National Hunt Sale and was sold by his breeder Aidan Aherne’s Windward House Stud for €6,000.

The Derby Sale also enjoyed Grade 1 success on Grand National Day with 2011 graduate SIZING GRANITE winning the Grade 1 Doom Bar Maghull Novices’ Chase. Running in the same colours as fellow Tattersalls Ireland graduate and 2011 Champion Chase winner SIZING EUROPE, Alan and Ann Potts Milan gelding looks to be heir to the thrown of their star chaser with a powering performance showing an abundance of talent under Johnnie Burke for trainer Henry de Bromhead.

SIZING GRANITE was sold on two occasions at Tattersalls Ireland; as a foal at the 2008 November National Hunt Sale when selling to D Carr for €4,200 from Liswilliam Stud and then as a three-year-old at the 2011 Derby Sale when being sold by Abbey Stables for €68,000 to his owner, Alan Potts.

DUKE OF LUCCA proved to be an Aintree specialist when landing back to back wins in the Listed Betfred Handicap Chase. The ten-year-old gelding trained by Philip Hobbs for Mrs Lesley Field, held on tenaciously to win the race ahead of another Tattersalls Ireland representative Your Busy.

DUKE OF LUCCA was sold at the 2005 November National Hunt Sale by Liam Gilsenan for €24,000 to Glenside Stud.
