Tattersalls Ireland Graduates Dominate Day 1 of Punchestown Festival

JP McManus enjoyed more success with Tattersalls Ireland Graduates when Shot From The Hip landed the Grade 1 Evening Herald Champion Hurdle under a confident ride from AP McCoy. Shot From The Hip was sold at the 2007 Derby Sale by Ballincurrig House Stud for €235,000 to MV Magnier. Tattersalls Ireland Graduates were celebrating more Grade 1 success when Big Zeb turned the tables on Sizing Europe win in the Queen Mother Champion Chase to land the feature race, the Grade 1 Champion Chase. Big Zeb was sold at the 2001 November National Hunt Sale by Rachel Bennett for IrGns2,400. The final race on day 1 of the Punchestown Festival was won by Tattersalls Ireland graduate King Vuvuzela, trained by Paul Nolan, owned by the Red Menace Syndicate and ridden by Barry O'Neill. King Vuvuzela was sold at the 2008 November National Hunt Sale by Railstown Stud for €47,000 to Ger Hourigan. The Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale takes place on June 23rd and 24th, 2011.
