13 Apr 2026 Share on X Share on Facebook Banker’s Happy Takes Malaysian Breeze Up Sale Trophy The Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale Trophy was the feature race at Selangor Turf Club on Sunday.With the Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale just five weeks away, promotion of Europe’s fastest growing Breeze Up Sale moved to Malaysia for the first running of the Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale Trophy on Sunday.The race was hosted by the Selangor Turf Club, and saw a maximum field of 12 runners contest the most valuable race on the card. The sponsorship comes as Tattersalls Ireland work alongside Irish Thoroughbred Marketing and the Breeze Up Consignors Association to drive awareness and appeal of our upcoming Breeze Up Sale across various international markets.Among those in attendance was Orla Tunney, Ambassador of Ireland to Malaysia, Mike Fong, Chief Executive of the Selangor Turf Club, and Andrew Kelly from Irish Thoroughbred Marketing.The Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale Trophy was won by the front running BANKER’S HAPPY who held on by a diminishing neck. The four-year-old is trained by Johnny Lim, and was adding to an eight-length victory two weeks ago. It was game effort from BANKER’S HAPPY, as they went a strong gallop from the outset, and the chasing pack were closing fast as the line approached.The Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Stakes went to the three-year-old gelding JINLING STARBLITZ under jockey Benny Woodworth. Formerly named No Such Thing, he was sourced by Mark Gallagher on behalf of connections. He is a graduate of the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale when purchased from Francis Quinn’s Railstown Stud.His sire is Inns Of Court, which means as an Irish bred winner, connections received a €10,000 bonus which can be spent on an Irish-bred at the upcoming Breeze Up Sale.The successful owners of JINLIG STARBLITZ was the Selangor Turf Club Committee, and Rodney Cheah Sin Chye was on hand to receive the prize on behalf of the committee.Jinling Starblitz won the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Stakes for the Selangor Turf Club Committee.Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale graduates have been performing with credit at Selangor Turf Club with MIRAGE PEGASUS, RED WARRIOR, and LUCKY MEGA all getting on the scoresheet in recent weeks.The 2025 Breeze Up Sale featured buyers from 23 different countries, and the Malaysian buyers featured prominently on the final results.The catalogue for the 2026 Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale is now online. It features the progeny of 90 different sires, and includes 59 siblings to black-type winners, and 52 two-year-olds out of black-type mares.
