Queen Mother Champion Chase glory for Derby Sale graduate Energumene

Derby Sale graduate Energumene landed the Grade 1 feature race of day two, following on from Honeysuckle’s Champion Hurdle victory on day one.

Energumene was all class winning the Grade 1 Queen Mother Champion Chase under Paul Townend for Willie Mullins & Tony Bloom.

The son of Denman Red was sold for €50,000 by Moanmore Stables to Tom Lacey at the Derby Sale in 2017. 

Commander Of Fleet got up on the line in a thrilling finish to win the Grade 3 Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle under Shane Fitzgerald for trainer Gordon Elliott and Gigginstown House Stud.

The eight-year-old gelding bred by Patricia Coughlan was sold at the 2014 November NH Sale for €35,000 by Egmont Stud to Mount Eaton Stud.
