DOUBLE ON DAY 3 OF CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL FOR TATTERSALLS IRELAND

BENEFFICIENT powered home three and a quarter lengths clear of his nearest rivals to claim the Grade 2 Jewson Novices’ Chase for owners Aidan Shiels and Niall Reilly, trainer Tony Martin and jockey Bryan Cooper.

BENEFFICIENT (right) was sold at the 2009 Derby Sale by Bellisle Stud for €3,000 to Debbie Hartnett before selling at the 2011 Point to Point and Horses in Training Sale to Tony Martin for €52,000 by Ms Hartnett and Tim Linehan.

Front running CUE CARD displayed an awesome performance to lead home a 1-2-3 in the Grade 1 Ryanair Chase for Tattersalls Ireland. In second place was Derby Sale graduate FIRST LIEUTENANT and third home was February National Hunt Sale graduate, FOR NON STOP.

CUE CARD, previously a winner of the 2010 Champion Bumper and trained by Colin Tizzard for Mrs. Jean R Bishop, was sold at the 2009 Derby Sale by Goldford Stud for €52,000 to Aidan Kennedy. The son of King’s Theatre also went through the ring at the 2007 February National Hunt Sale.
