Grade 1 treble for the Derby Sale confirms another leading Store sale title at the Aintree Festival

Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale graduates produced phenomenal performances to lead the way as the only Irish Store sale to produce Grade 1 winners at the Aintree Festival this year. Tattersalls Ireland more winners than any other Auction House with six victories across the three days, five of which were Grade 1 winners.

Jonbon put in a top class display of jumping to win the Grade 1 Maghull Novices’ Chase in the hands of Aidan Coleman for Nicky Henderson and JP McManus.

The seven-year-old by Walk In The Park was sold for €140,000 by Church View Stables to Paul Holden & Michael Shefflin at the Derby Sale in 2019.


Shishkin stayed on best to win the Grade 1 Aintree Bowl Chase for Nicky Henderson, Mrs J Donnelly and Nico de Boinville.

Shishkin was sold for €28,000 by Goldford Stud to Boyne Farm at the 2017 Derby Sale, also sold prior to this as a foal at the November National Hunt Sale by Rathbarry Stud to Ben Case. Shishkin was also purchased by David Minton of Highflyer Bloodstock for £170,000 at the 2018 Tattersalls Cheltenham December Sale from Virginia Considine.


Gerri Colombe cruised to victory in the Grade 1 Mildmay Novices’ Chase for Robcour, Gordon Elliott and Davy Russell.

The seven-year-old was sold at the Derby Sale by Moanmore Stables for €85,000 to Colin Bowe. He was also sold at the Tattersalls Cheltenham Festival Sale by Milestone Stables to Mags O’Toole for £240,000.


Constitution Hill landed a sixth consecutive Grade 1 and maintains his unbeaten record with an easy victory in the Grade 1 Aintree Hurdle for Michael Buckley, Nicky Henderson and Nico de Boinville.

The son of Blue Bresil was sold at the November National Hunt Sale for €16,500 from Throckmorton Court Stud to Warren Ewing & Barry Geraghty. 


Banbridge kicked off the Aintree Festival in style winning the opening Grade 1 Manifesto Novices' Chase for Ronnie Bartlett, Joseph O'Brien and JJ Slevin.

Banbridge was sold at the 2017 November National Hunt Sale by Springhill Stud to Ian Ferguson for €36,000.


Bill Baxter scored Topham Handicap Chase glory for Warren Greatrex, Sam Twiston Davies and Glassex Holdings Ltd.

Sold as a foal at the November National Hunt Sale for €22,000 by Quinnsboro Stud to Scott Mernagh.

Tattersalls Ireland will host the complete package of National Hunt Store sales over the coming months at Fairyhouse; offering the first Store sale of the year, the May Store Sale will take place on Tuesday 16 May, the flagship Derby Sale taking place on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 June and the July Store Sale taking place on Wednesday 26, Thursday 27 and Friday 28 July.
