CHAMPAGNE FEVER was sold at the 2010 Derby Sale by Smithstown Stud for just €17,500 to Michael O’Mara.

Consistent performer CLOSING CEREMONY produced his career best performance on Saturday at Haydock to land the Grade 2 Rendlesham Hurdle. Emma Lavelle’s son of Flemensfirth displayed an encouraging performance throughout the race to beat some stiff competition and will now possibly head for the Pertemps Final at the Festival.

CLOSING CEREMONY was sold as a foal at the 2009 November NH Sale by Ballincurrig House Stud to Edmond Ryan for €15,500.

On Sunday at Navan, another Derby Sale graduate DEDIGOUT relished conditions and claimed the Grade 2 Boyne Hurdle. A recent winner of the Grade 2 Galmoy Hurdle and a previous Grade 1 winner, DEDIGOUT’s target could now be at the Cheltenham with the World Hurdle being the main focus.

DEDIGOUT was sold at the 2009 Derby Sale when Shanaville Stables sold the son of Bob Back to John Queally for a mere €5,000.
