High-class and well-bred fillies at the Derby Sale

The phenomenal pedigrees on offer at this year’s Derby Sale for well- bred fillies extends deeper than ever and for those in search of a filly with a successful dam, there are six high-class options.

Lot 112 boasts a wonderful pedigree as the daughter of Grade 1 Prix Alain du Breil Four-Year-Old Summer Hurdle heroine N’Avoue Jamais. The filly, by Shirocco, is a half-sister to the Listed winning fillies Nid d’Amour, Nickelle and N’Oublie Jamais.

Consigned by Coolruss Stud on behalf of Eclipse Bloodstock, her dam is also a half-sister to the Grade 1 winner and sire Nickname and his full-brothers Nom De D’La, a winner at Grade 3 level and Narkis, successful in a Listed race, the multiple Grade 2 winner by Linamix – Nom D’Une Pipe – and the Group 2 winner No Risk At All, who was placed in the Prix D’Ispahan.

A daughter of the late Jeremy out of Our Girl Salley is to be offered by Kilmoney Cottage Stud. Lot 136 is the first foal of the mare who was a multiple winner including the Grade 3 Mares’ Hurdle at Leopardstown. It is a family of talented mares as last season’s Grade 1 Royal Bond Novices’ Hurdle.
Another first daughter to go under the hammer at the Derby Sale is Lot 154 out of Premier Victory, twice a winner at Grade 3 level. The filly is consigned by Rathbarry Stud, home of her sire Presenting. Premier Victory is a full-sister to the Midlands Grand National winner and Welsh National runner-up Firebird Flyer.

Trained by the late, great Dessie Hughes, the Presenting mare Shirley Casperwon a Grade 2 bumper, Grade 3 hurdle and was successful over fences. Her second foal, a filly by Milan, is consigned by Cleaboy Stud and Coppice Farm as Lot 208
Chomba Womba won three times at Grade 2 level over hurdles for Nicky Henderson and Little Lodge Stud consign her Flemensfirth filly as Lot 359. The daughter of Fourstars Allstar is already the dam of a winner by Kayf Tara in Chocca Wocca and her five-year-old gelding by King’s Theatre, As I See It, won his point to point this year.
From Goldford Stud comes a filly by Flemensfirth, Lot 389, who is the second foal out of the Grade 2 winning hurdler Dare To Doubt and comes from the family of the great Buck House.
