The Tattersalls Ireland statistics at Punchestown speak for themselves with an impressive 43 winners in the last three running’s of Irelands premier national hunt festival. Of this tally 28% were grade 1 victories  with Morning Assembly landing the Irish Daily Mirror Novice Hurdle, Mount Benbulben claiming the Growise Novice Chase and a Betdaq Champion Bumper winner in the form of The Liquidator at the 2013 season finale. In addition to the Punchestown tally Tattersalls Ireland graduates scored a further 26 festival wins at Cheltenham, Aintree and Fairyhouse festivals last spring.

The Tattersalls Ireland Champion Novice Hurdle role of honour is impressive reading with previous winners including the great Istabraq, Native Upmanship, Tranquil Sea, Nicanor and super mares Asian Maze and Glencove Marina. In addition, it comes as no surprise to learn that since 1995 the awesome partnership of Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh remain the winning most combination of the race with six wins apiece.

Commenting on the announcement Roger Casey, Managing Director of Tattersalls Ireland said “We are delighted to renew our sponsorship of the Grade 1 Champion Novice Hurdle at this year’s Punchestown Festival. Tattersalls Ireland graduates were a dominant force at last year’s major festivals across Ireland and the UK, with no less than 41 Tattersalls Ireland graduates winning at Punchestown, Fairyhouse, Cheltenham and Aintree. We are thrilled to continue our sponsorship of the Tattersalls Ireland Grade 1 Champion Novice Hurdle on the Friday of Ireland’s leading National Hunt racing Festival; Punchestown and look forward to celebrating more Tattersalls Ireland graduates successes at the upcoming Festival in April/May this year.”
