November National Hunt Sale Catalogue is Now Online

The New Lion is a graduate of the November National Hunt Sale.

The catalogue for the 2025 November National Hunt Sale, which takes place from Monday 10th November to Wednesday 12th November is now online.

The catalogue features 780 lots, comprising of 703 foals some of whom hail from National Hunt racing’s most illustrious families, while 47 yearlings have been catalogued and the sale will conclude with the sale of 30 mares in the National Hunt breeding stock section. All lots are catalogued alphabetically by dam by day.

The November National Hunt Sale is renowned for attracting the cream of the Irish National Hunt foal crop, and the sale is once again strongly supported by leading National Hunt breeders.

Oliver and Eoghan Loughlin have entered 15 foals, and a Walk In The Park colt, out of the black type mare Posh Trish is sure to attract lots of interest. He is the third sibling from the family to be offered at the November National Hunt Sale. His full-brother emerged as the top priced store sold anywhere earlier this year, when purchased at the Derby Sale for €285,000.

Frank Motherway’s Yellowford and Drumlin will offer 26 foals, among them a Jeu St Eloi half-sister to Grade 1 placed WEST BALBOA. Also included in the Yellowford and Drumlin draft is a Jeu St Eloi colt from the family of two-time Grade 1 winner CONFLATED. His Blue Bresil half-brother was purchased for €55,000 in November 2023.

John Dwan’s Ballyreddin Stud will consigned 11 foals, including a Walk In The Park colt whose full-brother was sold for €92,000 in November last year. Also in the Ballyreddin draft is an Authorized colt whose half-brother Six Figures was a Grade 2 winner earlier this year, and was narrowly beaten in the Grade 1 Prix Alain du Breil at Auteuil.

Michael Moore’s Ballincurrig House Stud has regularly featured at the top of the consignors table in recent years, and 29 foals will be feature in the Ballincurrig draft, including a Walk In The Park colt whose dam Down Ace was a six-time winner including at Listed level.

James Sheehan’s Clonmult Farm have a draft of 22 foals, including a Walk In The Park full-brother to Grade 1 placed GIOVINCO.

Coolmara Stables consigned the joint top-priced foal in 2024, and the Mariga family’s draft comprises of a son of Jeu St Eloi out of the black type mare Lonesome Dove, whose Crystal Ocean half-brother was a six-figure purchase at the 2025 Derby Sale.

November National Hunt Sale graduates produced significant profits for pinhookers earlier this year at the Derby Sale. While the Walk In The Park gelding mentioned above was purchased in November 2022 for €85,000 and sold for €285,000, a son of Poet’s Word was purchased for €39,000 as a foal and sold for €150,000 as a store, and a Maxios gelding was a €30,000 foal purchase and was sold for €125,000 at the Derby Sale.

The first foals of Group 1 King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner Pyledriver are catalogued, while the first crop of three-time Group 1 winner Hurricane Lane (32), Subjectivist (2), Mac Swiney (1), Mojo Star (2), Kenway (2), and Jigme (2) will also be offered.

Leading National Hunt sires are strongly represented, and are headed by Jeu St Eloi (50), Walk In The Park (23), Jukebox Jury (42), Blue Bresil (34), Authorized (17), Affinisea (33), Order of St George (36), Santiago (37), Poet’s Word (45), Harzand (15) and Crystal Ocean (25).

Graduates of the November National Hunt Sale made their mark at Grade 1 level throughout the 2024 / 25 National Hunt season. THE NEW LION is considered a live Champion Hurdle contender this season, and his novice hurdle campaign featured a top-class performance in the Grade 1 Turners Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. HIDDENVALLEY LAKE produced a career best effort to win the Grade 1 Liverpool Hurdle at Aintree, while the ever dependable BANBRIDGE landed a third Grade 1 in the King George VI Chase at Kempton.
