Pure Quality: Derby Sale catalogue now online
Tattersalls Ireland are delighted to announce that 390 outstanding National Hunt stores have been carefully selected for the hugely anticipated 2022 Derby Sale. The team of inspectors have worked incredibly hard to compile a catalogue of pure quality to offer purchasers the cream of the Store Sale crop. The sale will take place on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 June at Fairyhouse and the catalogue is now available to view online.
Derby Sale graduates continued to shine on the racetrack this season taking home more Grade 1 success, more Cheltenham Festival championship races and more Dublin Racing Festival, Aintree & Punchestown Festival winners than any other store sale. History maker HONEYSUCKLE retained her unbeaten record and created history at the Cheltenham Festival by becoming the first mare to win the Grade 1 Champion Hurdle twice. HONEYSUCKLE finished the season at Punchestown when winning her twelfth Grade 1 race and yet again created more history becoming the first horse to win sixteen races undefeated over hurdles.
The Derby Sale landed ten Grade 1’s in 2022 including ENERGUMENE’s Queen Mother Champion Chase glory at the Cheltenham Festival, JONBON’s Top Novices Hurdle win and THREE STRIPE LIFE Mersey Novices Hurdle win at the Aintree Festival, CONFLATED’s Irish Gold Cup win at the Dublin Racing Festival as well as SHISHKIN scoring the Clarence House Chase. Other Grade 1 winning graduates include GALVIN, FURY ROAD, BRAVEMANSGAME, FERNY HOLLOW, APPRECIATE IT and many more.
Unsurprisingly vendors continue to save their very best stock for the Derby Sale and this year’s catalogue is made up of exceptional pedigrees from the best National Hunt families. Amongst the siblings to Grade 1 winners are own or half-brothers and sisters to top class stars of recent years including MIGHTY POTTER, BRAVEMANSGAME, CHANTRY HOUSE, BRIAR HILL, CONFLATED, ESPOIR D’ALLEN, FINIANS OSCAR, BATTLEOVERDOYEN, POTTERS POINT, SOMERSBY and more.
All horses catalogued for the Derby Sale are eligible for the €100,000 Tattersalls Ireland George Mernagh Memorial Sales Bumper 2023.
