Sapphire Sale Catalogue is Now Online

A total of 125 yearlings, foals and mares have been catalogued for the Sapphire Sale, the final European Flat foal and breeding stock sale of the year. The sale takes place on Tuesday 16th December, and will commence at 12pm.

Following the strong results recorded at this year’s Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up and September Yearling Sales, the aim is for the Sapphire Sale to continue that forward momentum next month.

Two significant incentives for purchasers are on offer. All foals purchased are guaranteed at least a place in Part II of the September Yearling Sale 2026, while all yearlings catalogued are eligible for the Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes, which will be run for €250,000 at the 2026 Irish Champions Festival.

The list of sires with foals and yearlings catalogued include BLACKBEARD, CHURCHILL, GHAIYYATH, LUCKY VEGA, MEHMAS, MINZAAL, PERSIAN FORCE, SANDS OF MALI, SERGEI PROKOFIEV, and STARMAN.

• Lot 24  Footstepsinthesand colt, half-brother to Group 3 winner THUNDERBEAR
• Lot 25 Ghaiyyath colt, out of two-time winner SUMMER VALLEY

• Lot 35 Nando Parrado colt, half-brother to Listed winner WINIATA and Group 3 winner BELCARRA

The foal section of the catalogue includes some well-related sorts. Among the sires represented with their first crop foals are Bouttemont, Shaquille, Good Guess and The Antarctic.

Seven mares have been catalogued and include;
