SEPTEMBER YEARLING SALE 2013

Tattersalls Ireland graduate LETHAL FORCE has undoubtedly franked himself as the leading sprinter this year, winning the Group 1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot and following up with victory in the Group 1 July Cup at Newmarket. LUCKY NINE continues to fly the flag in Asia winning the Group 1 Chairman’s Sprint Prize at Sha Tin and the Group 1 KrisFlyer International Sprint at Kranji, Singapore. Both horses were purchased at the September Yearling Sale for a mere €8,500 and €9,000 respectively and have earned a combined career total of €4.5million in prize money.

Graduates of the September Yearling Sale continue to excel and this was reinforced in 2012 with no less than 156 2-year-olds winning a combined total of 288 individual races, highlighted by Black Type wins from WINNING EXPRESS, THREE SEA CAPTAINS, SRUTHAN, VIRGIN QUEEN, VIRTUAL GAME and GRAND TREASURE.  

All lots catalogued for the 2013 September Yearling Sale are eligible for the oldest sales race in Europe; the €125,000 Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Stakes held at the Curragh Racecourse in 2014.

111 sires are represented in this year’s catalogue headed by the sire of LETHAL FORCE, Dark Angel (20) along with leading 2-year-old sire Kodiac (15) and leading first season 2-year-old sire Dandy Man (5).
