September Yearling Sale Catalogue Is Now Online

Group 1 Coronation Stakes winner Cercene is a graduate of the 2023 September Yearling Sale.

The catalogue for the September Yearling Sale is now online and is available to view at www.tattersalls.ie. The catalogue includes 505 yearlings all of which will be offered for sale across two days, commencing on Tuesday 23rd September and continuing into Wednesday 24th September, while Part II features 165 yearlings to be sold on Thursday 25th September.

June’s Royal Ascot meeting delivered a landmark moment for the sale, with three Group 1 winners – DOCKLANDS, CERCENE, and TIME FOR SANDALS – all graduates of the September Yearling Sale. It is a remarkable achievement, and one no other sales company matched during a Royal Ascot Festival. While the sale has long been known for producing smart juveniles and successful pinhooking prospects, this year’s results highlight the depth and potential that consistently comes through the sales ring at Tattersalls Ireland.

The September Yearling Sale remains a leading source of two-year-olds winners, with graduates from the 2024 edition winning across a number of racing jurisdictions. The George Boughey-trained INDIA LOVE remains unbeaten after three starts, and holds an entry in the Group 2 Lowther Stakes. Ger Lyons’ BY THE LAKE was another winning debutant and she holds an engagement in the valuable Ballyhane Stakes, while Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes entrant LOST SIGNAL was a third winner in recent days for last year’s graduates.

The September Yearling Sale is targeted by many of Ireland and the UK’s leading pinhookers, as they begin to assemble their Breeze Up squads. Among those 2024 graduates to turn significant profit at the 2025 Breeze Up Sales were sons of Sioux Nation and Mehmas, purchased for €70,000 and €52,000 respectively, and sold for 260,000gns and 200,000gns.

In total the progeny of 104 different sires will be offered, including STARMAN, HAVANA GREY, SEA THE STARS, STARSPANGLEDBANNER, GHAIYYATH, ST MARK’S BASILICA, SANDS OF MALI, COTAI GLORY, SIOUX NATION, NO NAY NEVER, PINATUBO, SPACE BLUES, TOO DARN HOT, SUPREMACY, MINZAAL, KINGMAN, BLACKBEARD, PERSIAN FORCE, and STATE OF REST.
