It was a spectacular Saturday of Graded success for Derby Sale graduates, headlined by the 1-2-3 victory in the Grade 1 Clarence House Chase at Ascot.


One of the most highly anticipated clashes in recent times, star 2 mile chasers Shishkin and Energumene finally clashed at Ascot for the Grade 1 Clarence House Chase. The Nicky Henderson trained Shishkin toughed it out to beat his fellow Derby Sale rival's Energumene and First Flow.


Shishkin was sold for €28,000 by Goldford Stud to Boyne Farm at the 2017 Derby Sale, the son of Sholokhov was sold prior to this as a foal at the November NH Sale by Rathbarry Stud to Ben Case. He was also sold at the Tattersalls Cheltenham December Sale by Virginia Considine to Highflyer Bloodstock for £170,000.


Energumene was sold for €50,000 by Moanmore Stables to Tom Lacey at the 2017 Derby Sale and First Flow was sold at the 2015 Derby Sale by Rathurtin Stud to Karen Fanshawe.



Jonbon was all class winning the Grade 2 Rossington Main Novices’ Hurdle at Haydock under Aidan Coleman for Nicky Henderson and JP McManus.


Jonbon was sold for €140,000 by Church View Stables to Paul Holden and Michael Shefflin at the Derby Sale.


Tommy's Oscar continued his winning streak when landing the Grade 2 'The New One' Hurdle at Haydock under Danny McMenamin for Ann and Ian Hamilton.

Tommy's Oscar was sold for €70,000 by Glenwood Stud to Colin Bowe at the Derby Sale.
