STRONG TRADE FOR YEARLINGS AT THE NOVEMBER NH SALE

The top lot of the day was Lot 268, a Flemensfirth gelding out of Dabaya, the dam of DABIROUN, winner of the Fred Winter at Cheltenham and with a timely update of Minella Present who recently boosted the form by winning at Uttoxeter by six lengths. Consigned by Screen Hill Lodge, the gelding was purchased by John O’Byrne for €62,000. Commenting on his purchase, Mr. O’Byrne said;

“He is a beautiful horse with a good pedigree from a great Aga Khan family. He is by Champion Sire Flemensfirth and had lovely conformation and presence. He will be kept to race.”

Lot 167, a Robin des Champs gelding out of the unraced dam Roli Flight who was the winner of the Geldings Championship at the National Hunt Yearling Show in association with the ITBA yesterday. Consigned by Rathmore Stud, Alan Harte Bloodstock secured the winner for €60,000 and commented after his purchase;

“We loved the horse from the moment we saw him at the show yesterday. He was the winner of the show after all! He will probably return to the Derby Sale as a three-year-old.”

Lot 187, a popular son of Kayf Tara out of seven time winner Kerada catalogued as Lot 187 was knocked to David Minton of Highflyer Bloodstock. Consigned by Little Lodge Farm, the imposing gelding was sold for €50,000.

Speaking on his purchase, David Minton said:

“I saw the horse at Robert Chuggs yard last week and I immediately fell in love with him. He is a good stamp of a horse and should make a very good racehorse. I have a soft spot for the family as I bought the dam for Robert as a foal and she went on to be quite a useful racehorse when trained by Nicky Henderson. This horse is bought for Trevor Hemmings to race and will board at his son Philip’s Wood Farm Stud until he goes into training.”

The November National Hunt Sale continues tomorrow, Tuesday November 11th with the first of four days of foals. The sale starts at 10am each day.
