4 Aug 2026 Share on X Share on Facebook Swedish Oaks Success for Breeze Up Sale Graduate Breeze Up Sale graduate Lady Irene pictured after winning the Swedish Oaks at Jagersro Racecourse.There was high profile success for Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale graduate LADY IRENE in the Swedish Oaks at Jägersro on Sunday.The daughter of Study Of Man raced prominently throughout the 2,400 metre contest, and her rider Carlos Lopez gradually increased the tempo after the halfway point.As the field exited the back straight five horses broke clear, but on entering the home straight Carlos Lopez committed and Lady Irene battled on bravely to see off all challengers.Lady Irene is trained at Øvrevoll Racecourse in Norway by Niels Petersen, who also saddled the third placed horse Bahia Mar. The winner was sold by the O’Donnell family of Bramblestown to Edgar Byrne for €52,000 at the last year’s Breeze Up Sale.She is out of an unraced Galileo mare, and she’s a half-sister to a five-time winner Liseo.Another Tattersalls Ireland graduate Miss Alti filled the runner-up position. She is also trained at Øvrevoll Racecourse by Cathrine Erichsen and was pinhooked by Shane and Alex Power’s Tradewinds Stud who purchased her at the 2024 September Yearling Sale and sold her at the Breeze Up Sale last year to Stroud Coleman Bloodstock.September Yearling Sale Strike Across The WorldThe terrific run of success for two-year-olds graduates of the September Yearling Sale has gathered pace in recent weeks, and the last seven days have seen graduates win domestically, and further afield in Saudi Arabia and in Italy.September Yearling Sale graduate Alparslan won the Group 3 Greenham Stakes.A total of 58 individual two-year-olds sold at the 2025 September Yearling Sale have won 64 races this season, with KEEP GRATING, HENLEY ON THAMES, ORISTOWN BOY and STAR BAYSIDE BOY all breaking their maidens in recent days.CABALLO DE MAR is the flagship graduate after George Scott’s five-year-old landed a brace of Group 1 contests at Longchamp. 16 graduates have won black type contests this year, with ALPARSLAN, JENNIFER JANE and ELLUSIVE BUTTERFLY among those to make their mark at Group 3 or Listed level.The catalogue for the 2026 September Yearling Sale is available to view online, and available from Tattersalls Ireland or any of our representatives.
