TATTERSALLS IRELAND GRADUATE FAUGHEEN FANTASTIC IN IRISH CHAMPION HURDLE

The eight-year-old, owned by leading owner Mrs Susannah Ricci and trained by Champion trainer Willie Mullins, was sold for a mere €4,000 at the November National Hunt Sale in 2008 by Coolnahay Stud on behalf of his Co Galway breeder Dr John Waldron. FAUGHEEN was purchased by Peter Quinlan.

THE NEW ONE ON TRACK FOR CHAMPION HURDLE WITH GRADE 2 TRIAL WIN

In testing ground at Kempton on Saturday, Derby Sale graduate THE NEW ONE identified himself as a leading contender for the Champion Hurdle at the Festival by winning the Grade 2 Champion Hurdle Trial for the second consecutive year.

Nigel Twiston-Davies eight-year-old was sold at Tattersalls Ireland on three occasions; at the 2008 November National Hunt Sale as a foal when selling to Justin Rea by Millbrook for €9,500 and at the 2009 November National Hunt Sale when Philip Dempsey purchased his as a yearling for €26,000 from Rea’s Fairgreen Stables. He was then sold as a three-year-old at the 2011 Derby Sale by Cleaboy Stud and Coppice Farm to Highflyer Bloodstock for €25,000.

GRADE 2 WIN FOR TATTERSALLS IRELAND GRADUATE CLOUDY TOO

Another Tattersalls Ireland graduate, CLOUDY TOO was not going to be caught as he led and accelerated five from home to win the Grade 2 Peter Marsh Chase by fifteen lengths at Haydock on Saturday. Relishing the conditions, Sue Smith’s Cloudings gelding was enjoying the most high-profile win of his career to date.

CLOUDY TOO was sold at the 2007 November National Hunt Sale by Ballyphilip Stud for €5,000 to Paul Clarke.

PROMISING YOUNGSTER ROCK THE KASBAH LANDS GRADE 3 AT ASCOT

At Ascot, the Grade 3 Hollway’s Handicap Hurdle fielded some very promising horses but it was Derby Sale graduate ROCK THE KASBAH who won the race showing plenty of determination for trainer Philip Hobbs and owner Mrs Diana L Whateley.

By Shirocco, ROCK THE KASBAH was bought at the 2013 Derby Sale by Aiden Murphy for €140,000 from vendors, Mount Eaton Stud.
