Winter Flat and National Hunt Sale Catalogue Now Online

Grade 2 and Galway Plate winner Western Fold is a graduate of the Winter Flat and National Hunt Sale.

The catalogue for the Winter Flat and National Hunt Sale, the first sale of the year is now online and features some choicely bred lots in a catalogue that totals 158.

The catalogue comprises predominantly of National Hunt bred yearlings, with the sale taking place on Tuesday 3rd February from 11:00am.

The sale will see the progeny of leading National Hunt sires offered for sale, including WALK IN THE PARK, AFFINISEA, POET’S WORD, BLUE BRESIL, CRYSTAL OCEAN, JEU ST ELOI, HARZAND and JUKEBOX JURY.

The Winter Flat and National Hunt Sale has seen some smart graduate performances in recent months, with WESTERN FOLD, CHAMP KIELY and COUTACH all winning prestigious prizes. WESTERN FOLD has proved to be one of the most improved horses under National Hunt rules this season, winning the Galway Plate and Grade 2 Gowran Park Champion Chase prior to finishing a creditable third in the Grade 1 Champion Chase at Down Royal. He was a €17,000 yearling purchase from Clinton House Stud by Peter Nolan Bloodstock in 2020.

Grade 1 American Champion Hurdle winner Coutach is a 2022 graduate from the
Winter Flat and National Hunt Sale.

CHAMP KIELY has been a terrific flagbearer for this sale having won the Grade 1 Lawlor’s Of Naas as a novice hurdler, and last year adding a Grade 1 novice chase at the Punchestown Festival. He was purchased from Cyril O’Hara’s Ennel Bloodstock by Michael Murray in 2017, while 2022 graduate COUTACH formed part of a memorable Gordon Elliott five-timer at Far Hills when winning the American Champion Hurdle. He remains a lightly raced five-year-old with lots of potential. He was a €48,000 purchase from James Sheehan’s Clonmult Farm by Dick Frisby.

Lot 15 Native Trail colt whose dam was Listed placed and is a half-sister to Group 1 Qatar Derby winner Full Moon.

Lot 25 Jeu St Eloi colt out of a two-time winning half-sister to Grade 1 winner Galvin.

Lot 29 Crystal Ocean half-sister to Chris’s Dream and Scorpiancer.

Lot 36 Walk In The Park colt out of a full-sister to Grade 2 winner Master Of The Hall.

Lot 51 Hurricane Lane filly who is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Coney Island.

Lot 63 Poet’s Word gelding out of a two-time Grade 3 winner and a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Darling Daughter.

Lot 72 Santiago colt who is a half-brother to recent Grade 2 winner Kazansky, and is out of a full-sister to Irish Grand National winner Thunder And Roses.

Lot 86 Order Of St George colt out of black type winning full-sister to recent Grade 1 winner Skylight Hustle.

Lot 89 Affinisea half-brother to five winners including Grade 2 winner Diamond Hunter.

Lot 90 Poet’s Word colt out of a two-time winning half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner The New One.

Lot 100 Gleneagles colt out of a two-time winner and from the family of sales race winner Tiger Eyel.

Lot 110 Blue Bresil colt out of a full-sister to Good Boy Bobby, and a half-sister to Enniskerry, from the family of Grade 1 winner Shishkin and Voler La Vedette.

Lot 119 Jukebox Jury filly out of a half-sister to three-time Grade 1 winner Valseur Lido.

Lot 131 2yo – Jukebox Jury filly out of a two-time winning black type mare and an own brother to two-time winner Rock Me Chanty.

Lot 138 Jeu St Eloi filly out of black type mare Billy’s Hope, and from the family of Grade 1 winner In Compliance.

Lot 139 Walk In The Park filly out of a Listed bumper winner and Grade 2 performing mare.

Lot 142 Santiago filly out of a two-time winning half-sister to Grade 1 placed Carrigmornaspruce.
