The May Point-to-Point & Horses in Training Sale caters for quality maiden point-to-point winners, and a select group of horses in training.

The timing of the sale brings together form horses, that have either won or been placed between the flags, during the busy late spring period. It provides a final opportunity for point-to-point handlers to sell ahead of the Store sale season. With the new National Hunt season having just commenced earlier in the month, owners and trainers can use this sale to bring their horses to market, or as a opportunity to build their strings.

This sale follows on from the successful monthly boutique sales hosted by Tattersalls Cheltenham earlier in the year, but May offers Irish vendors and purchasers the convenience of remaining on home soil during the busy transition period.

Winning Graduates

The 2025 edition of the sale has produced 23 individual winners, including Bentraghhill who made an impressive racecourse debut in bumper company at the Leopardstown Christmas Festival. Other bumper winners that were purchased last May were Old Habits, Is She Real and Axel Bleue.
The Horses in Training section did feature a strong draft from leading owners Robcour, including French Dynamite who subsequently landed the Munster National for new connections. Seaniecon, Cave Bridge and Royal Gladiator have made winning starts to their hurdling careers, while 2024 graduate Dippedinmoonlight has secured black type placing and looks a mare that could win a valuable prize in the future.
