A Select Sale Renowned for Producing Quality
A sale which has experienced continuous growth, reflecting its status as one of Europe’s leading yearling sales. The 2023 edition produced a record median, and a record number of lots making over €40,000. Graduates of this sale include Taj Dragon, a Group 3 winner at Sha Tin earlier this year, Anglesey Stakes winner Kairyu, and Prix d’Arenberg winner Tiger Belle.
The September Yearling Sale produced 130 winners in 2023, more two-year-old winners than any other European sale. The sale attracts a diverse range of owners, agents and pinhookers from Ireland, UK, Europe and further afield showing confidence in the Tattersalls Ireland yearling product. All yearlings catalogued will be eligible for the €250,000 Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes held at the 2026 Irish Champions Festival.

The buoyant trade that existed in Part I was maintained in Part II with the clearance rate culminating at 92 per cent, a 28 per cent increase on 2024. Total spend increased to €1,871,800 and that figure represented a 51 per cent increase on the corresponding figure in 2024.
The session featured the first ever six figure lot as a daughter of Starman, consigned by Mayo Farm Stud was purchased by Jim McCartan and Willie Browne for €105,000. A Showcasing filly out of the Group 2 Lowther Stakes winner Lucky Kristale was purchased by Bailey’s Horse Feeds for €85,000.
