Best Performing European Breeze Up Sale in 2026 .

The Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale is firmly established as a leading sale of it’s type. The sale is held over two days in late May, with the horses breezing at Fairyhouse Racecourse and afterwards making the short journey across to the Tattersalls Ireland sales complex. A huge advantage for vendors is the time saving and efficiency in moving between both venues, while purchasers have stated that the close proximity of both venues allows for viewing the breeze and conducting inspections to be done in a timely manner.

The 2026 edition produced a clearance rate of 88%, combined with a record turnover, record average and record median. These statistics showcase the heightened demand for two-year-olds from this sale, which was the best performing European Breeze Up Sale in 2026.

On the racecourse the sale has proven itself as a reliable source of Stakes performers. Among the graduates are the Group 2 Lowther Stakes runner up America Queen, while Nobody Knows won his first two starts and looks a horse with a big future.

Other graduates of note include Group 3 winner City Of Memphis, Group 1 Irish Oaks third Purple Lily, and Group 3 Round Tower Stakes winner Letsbefrankaboutit.

The 2026 Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale produced a record turnover exceeding €12 million, a 4% increase from 2025. A new record average price was set of €62,198, along with a median of €42,000, while the clearance rate of 88% made it the highest of all European Breeze Up Sales.

Five lots were sold for €300,000 or more, while the number sold for €200,000 or more doubled from 2025. 31 lots were sold for €100,000 or more, equalling the figure sold in 2025.

The expanding international racing programme resulted in purchasers from 23 different countries including Ireland, the USA, Sweden, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Hong Kong, the UK, Poland, Germany, and Italy.
